A sourdough starter is a natural fermentation culture made from flour and water. During fermentation, wild yeasts and lactic acid bacteria develop, giving real sourdough bread its distinctive flavour, texture and character.
The Polish Craft sourdough starter is made using rye flour. It is exactly the same starter we use every day in our bakery to bake our sourdough bread. We have been maintaining it continuously for over ten years. It is refreshed and fed regularly every three hours – day and night – week after week, month after month, year after year. Thanks to this careful process, it keeps its strength, stability and unique character. Now you can also have it in your own kitchen and begin your own journey with baking real sourdough bread.
Ingredients:: rye flour (type 720), water.
Allergens: contains gluten (rye).
Weight: approximately 500 g of active sourdough starter. As this is a natural and living product, the weight may vary slightly.
Packaging and transport:
The starter is packed in a sealed container to ensure safe transport. As it is a living and active culture, it should be stored in the refrigerator after delivery or refreshed and fed.
